CARACEN Offering a FREE Chicano Studies Class through ELAC

Exiting news, ELAC will be offering a Chicano Studies Course this Fall September 10th from 1pm to 4pm in CARECEN. CARACEN had registrations for this course in June, but now ELAC is open to adding more students to the class. CARACEN will have orientation/registration on September 3rd at 12pm in CARECEN’s Youth and Parent Center (This is only for students who have not registered, students who registered in June do not need to re-register)

Important: Students need to have the forms signed and stamped by their school counselor or principal. They also need to have the forms signed by their parents if they are under 18 years of age.

 

The course if absolutely free for HS students grades 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th. Students need to check in with their counselors but the course offers 3 College Units and 10 HS credits (please check with counselor).

 

Important things that students must have filled out in the application

-          Parent Signature in both the Admissions Application and YSI Form

-          Students must sign both Admissions Application and YSI Form

-          The YSI Form must be signed and STAMPED by school counselors or Principal

(ALL applications must be turned in person the day of registration)- NO SCANNED or FAX Copies will be accepted- this is a requirement from the college.

-          If Student are DACA, or AB540 undocumented then they must fill out the Non-Resident Forms
