VOTE!

Class of 2010, We are the future of this country, and if we have the opportunity to do something that would benefit us, why not do it! This November 2nd we have to vote for the new governor of California. If you’re eligible, you should go for it because it is in our hands to decide  how our future might turn out to be. When one is elected governor, they serve a term of four years. The future 2011-2015 governor can serve two terms if elected twice.

It is really important to vote. Especially now that there are a lot of controversial subjects and things going on all around the world. One of the things that is affecting everyone from all races is the new Arizona law, SB 1070. This law gives cops the power to ask any person for their legal papers. This is with no doubt a law that is intended to capture and get rid of all immigrants. Especially the Latino community! It’s these things that our vote can prevent! If we don’t vote and just wait for the outcome, it could be our parents and the closest of friends that could be deported next.

There are some candidates running this year that approve or believe that that the Arizona law is a good idea. So it’s important for us to do our part and get our butts to vote. So we can have a better future we should all unite and make our voices be heard. Not only by marching or rebelling against the system, but by using the system against the high power and voting so that they know we aren’t going to stop until we get what we want. Either if it’s immigration reforms, more money for schools, or simply less taxes.
