Lucille Ball was a very talented, funny comedian. She was born on August 6, 1911 in Jamestown, New York. Lucille started her life as a model, and then started Broadway. She appeared in small films during the 1930′s with the RKO studio.
In 1940, Lucille Ball met Desi Arnaz while they were filming a movie. The both of them got married that following year. On July 17, 1951, Lucille and Desi named their first child Desi Arnaz Jr.

In October 1951, CBS presented the first “I love Lucy” episode. It ran successfully for 6 yrs. And they won so many awards for their program. During the late 1950′s, the show was cancelled because Lucille and Desi wanted to save their marriage; although they were trying to save their marriage while filming the show. But then they divorced in 1960. On April 26,1989, Lucille Ball died of a aorta while she was undergoing an open- heart surgery. After a while, Desi Arnaz died of cancer. Until this very day, “I love Lucy” remains the most popular black and white t.v show.
